Dear United States Department of Agriculture (USDA),
It was recently brought to my attention that you have berated the nutritional value of the common summertime campfire crafted snack conglomeration of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows… commonly known as S’Mores. To further your own agenda, you have gone so far as to offer up an “alternative” recipie of Strawberry S’Mores that has been declared (by you) as healthier AND inexpensive. This is quite bold, but not surprising coming from an agency hell-bent on promoting fruits and vegetable crops to increase the market share of those food items you actually regulate.
Personnly, I find this atrocious. It is this kind of ham fisted communist style propaganda that has sucked the life out of everything we hold dear and is an affront to Americana in general. Thankfully USDA, there are still patriots in this country. For your crimes against Americana and it’s snack food I have two words for ya…
That’s right… THESE ARE REAL! I have TASTED THEM!! They are GOOD!!!
The cookie itself is graham flavored, not an actual graham cracker. The combined creme inside of chocolate and what seems to be a marshmallow like substance delivers the experience in taste, although somewhat lacking in that familiar gooey consistency.
At least unless you toss a few in the microwave.
After a little experimentation, I found 7 seconds was a pretty good time limit to warm it up just enough to give it that touch of goo through heat while not bursting the contents on fire. Of course, depending on the power of your microwave, the amount of time to radiate it with will vary.
So on that note… I want to thank you USDA for pretending to care while propagandaing for food stuffs you regulate in order to grow your power base… but none of that is necessary.
Oreo S’Mores are here.
At least for a limited time… and I highly recommend giving them a spin if you want to avoid campfires, S’More labor, and the ire if the USDA.
