7-Eleven Shuns It’s History To Deprive Loyal Customers Of Free Slurpees On 7/11 Day

July 9, 2015 By Dave Konig Leave a Comment

This Saturday is National 7-Eleven Day. It’s important to understand that 7-Eleven derived it’s name from the hours that it was open, which was 7:00am-11:00pm. From the 7-11 Wikipedia Page:

In 1946, in an effort to continue the company’s post-war recovery, the name of the franchise was changed to 7-Eleven to reflect the stores’ new hours of operation, which were unprecedented at the time.

711FreeSlurpeeAdHOWEVER apparently they have shunned their history, discarded their traditions, and for reasons of corporate greed are only giving away the Free Slurpees from 11:00am-7:00pm. The store name is 7-11… NOT 11-7. So what gives?

This is just another fine example of corporate greed trying to pretend that they are doing something good for their customers but really are looking to deprive probably their most regular and loyal customer base… those who work between 11:00am-7:00pm and are unable to enjoy a Slurpee during that time.

This is not just an outrage… it’s a downright travesty. It borders on being criminal.

So thanks 7-Eleven… for nuthin’.
