So if you were on Facebook at all yesterday you probably saw this little graphic being passed around amidst all the odes to David Bowie from people who you never knew had even heard of him:
It both amazed and dumbfounded me how many people hit the LIKE button and SHARED this image… good electric sheep following the electric flock right off the cliff. I know, the message is clearly awesome… by distributing the 1.4 Billion Dollar Powerball Jackpot we could solve poverty. That is a gigantic relief knowing that it is as simple as laying siege to the Powerball Citadel, taking the jackpot, and then spreading the wealth. Of course, there is one major problem with the whole thing.
The math is wrong.
It’s no secret that math is not my strongest subject… but I mean come on!
Really? Really?? Really???
Are there truly THAT many people THAT bad at math? This is as bad, if not worse, than the whole Zuckerberg giving you his millions thing that was going around. It kind of drives me more than a little nuts seeing stuff like this, because if everything you read on the internet is true, then I should be raking in the dough because You Called 9-1-1 For This? (You Called 9-1-1 For… Book 2) is the GREATEST BOOK EVER.
There, you read that on the internet… so it must be true. Now go buy it.
I don’t do a lot of cross-posting much, but you can read what I would do with my $4.33 share of the loot by clicking here.
