Back in July of 2015 I questioned whether or not Dunkin Donuts had retired the Croissant Donut from their menu. In it I wrote this while making the argument for the continuation of Croissant Donuts on the menu:
There is also the potential for Croissant Dounts with fillings, such as jelly or Bavarian Creme. Boston Kreme Croissant Donut anyone? Uh, yeah!!! I’ll take three of THOSE!!!
It has been 1 year, 3 months, and 4 days since I wrote that… and today it has come true!!!
BEHOLD! The Boston Kreme Croissant Donut is here!!!
Let’s just start off with the fact that yes… this is STILL a glazed donut with a chocolate drizzle ontop. Despite that still off putting fact… one bite through the thick donut crust into the soft silky croissant innards that releases the flow of Bavarian creme/custard from its lair and an addiction has taken hold of your soul. Yes… that’s right… I said your SOUL PEOPLE!
This is more than a delightful Croissant Donut variant… this is what the Croissant Donut has travelled so far to become. A blend of donut, croissant, custard, chocolate, and glaze (yes… even the damn glaze does it’s part) that bundles itself into what will be three seconds in heaven. Why only three seconds? Because that’s how long you’ll be able to hold out from scarfing one down once you have the taste in your mouth.

Obviously someone read that blog post a year, 3 months, and 4 days ago and ran with my idea. I forecast the Boston Kreme Croissant Donut being a huge seller and it may even stick around for longer than the usual two month residency that all the Croissant Donut variants seem to have.
