Paramedic Maurice White Files Suit Against Trooper Daniel Martin

UPDATE: OHP Slaps Trooper Daniel Martin On The Wrist!

While the world continues to await the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s verdict of it’s ambulance traffic stopping Trooper, the Paramedic that Trooper Daniel Martin is seen holding in a chokehold has filed a lawsuit against him for his actions at the incident in May.

trooper_martin_chokes_medic_whiteAccording to Fox, Paramedic Maurice White is seeking punitive and compensatory damages against Trooper Daniel Martin. The lawsuit ascertains that Trooper Daniel Martin used unreasonable force during the traffic stop. The lawsuit is also highly critical of the lack of action taken by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol over the last two months.

Trooper Daniel Martin has been on paid administrative leave since June 1. It has been previously reported by the OHP’s own PIO that the investigation was concluded sometime ago, and yet there had been no word from the OHP as to the findings of the investigation. Now that Paramedic Maurice White finally files a lawsuit, the OHP is suddenly ready to disclose the action to be taken with Trooper Daniel Martin.

I can’t help but feel that no matter what the outcome is with Trooper Daniel Martin, that Colonel Van M. Guillotte should also tender his resignation immediately for incompetence through gross inaction.

If we cannot trust the CHIEF of the OHP to be able to be fair, just, and quick when his people have acted wrongfully, then why should we trust ANY of the OHP to do the right thing?

There is no reason why. Send Trooper Daniel Martin and his incompetent boss Colonel Van M. Guilliotte to the unemployment line.

    The more I see things like this the more it angers me, were suppose to trust law enforcement.... We see this kind of thing all the time, this is getting ridiculous. Cops should not have the power to arrest people just because their voicing their opinion. This guy was not holding a weapon or swinging at the officer, in no way was he endangering the public. Isn't that what police are for, PROTECT THE PUBLIC. There really needs to be some major changes.

    Did you notice how they said "Scuffle" as to imply the paramedic got into a fight with the trooper? Even the media attempts to down play the seriousness of racially motivated Hate CRIMES. Yes I said crimes, because he violated that mans Civil and Human rights. What's worse is he only got a 5 day suspension. The racist cops are so Hateful that they enable themselves from thinking rationally. Nothing goes unseen from the public’s eyes anymore. Everyone has camera phones and your own cruiser has a camera while you’re wearing a microphone. Really??

    Maurice is right in filing a suit against the cop. Because Maurice is black and the cop is white only goes to show the racism involved in law enforcement. Had the patient died because of the conduct of the police, I would hope he would have been charged with murder. This behavior by police is inexcusable. Extreme negligence and lack of respect for a life in danger. This police man should have been fired for his conduct and his boss made to resign. We've seen how they treated Professor Gates. Police have a lot of explaining to do. I don't think they can be trusted at all.

    I wonder if the redneck cop would have done the same thing to his brethren? Redneck country is running scared that minorities will eventually outnumber them. Neonazi cops need to be rooted out of every police force!

    Why was there any investigation that had to take place. The entire incident was caught on video tape and on cell phone.

    No one has explained why and ambulance with lights and sirens going was t=stopped to begin with. the entire purpose of the lights and sirens is to inform people on the road that the ambulance is carrying a sick or dying patient. If a trooper has a problem he should have followed the ambulance to the hospital and then questioned the driver. This Trooper need to lose his job and not be allowed to work as a highway patrol office ever again.
